2023 Soccer Season Start

Jun. 05, 2023

Hello everyone!

Our minis soccer program for U3, U5, U7 and U9 starts next week, on Tuesday June 13th at 6:30pm!  The first night will be a slower start as players pick up their team shirt and are organized into their groups.

Finding your field

Your child's name will be on our website under the menu for the appropriate age group (U3, U5, U7, U9).  Click through to the team and then select the "Players" menu.  We will also have a list of the players and their teams at the field entrance for the first few weeks.

Once you've identified which team your child is on, use the Field Layout menu at the top to locate where your child is playing.  This map also shows parking areas and how to access the U7 and U9 fields.

*Please note: at this time it looks like the U5 groups will be combined into one or two larger groups, so for U5 just head over to the correct area and we'll get them sorted out.

Dates and times

  • U3: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:15pm
  • U5: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:15pm
  • U7: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm
  • U9: practices Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, games Wednesdays at times/locations to be announced.

The minis season runs 10 weeks, from June 13th to August 17th.

The following information is available on our website on the page Programs and Information, but is included below for your convenience.

What to bring
Children should come wearing their team shirt and comfortable clothing; generally this means shorts and their t-shirt.  Dress them in layers if it's chilly so they can remove layers as they heat up running around.  Cleats are optional for minis thought they do make running easier.  Shin pads are optional but we do recommend them - they can usually be picked up cheap at Walmart and other stores.  Bring a water bottle, you can fill it/refill it at the fountain by the bathrooms.  Sunscreen as the summer sun starts to hit us, and bug spray if the bugs decide to come out.

Weather policy
The club policy for all age groups is to play regardless of weather, with three exceptions:

  1. We stop play for 30 minutes for thunder or lightning, and coaches or refs can elect to cancel if they judge further play unsafe.
  2. We don't play if the fields are too wet (large puddles of standing water, or surface soil loosening into mud), as they get slippery and the cleats can ruin a soggy field.
  3. We don’t play if the heat + humidity makes it too hot to play.  This is generally at or above 35C, but is at the discretion of the club executive (eg: it's often breezy and not as hot in the North Shore as it is in Charlottetown.)

We will do our best to send cancellations via email at least one hour before the scheduled start.  We will also do our best to post cancellations on our Facebook page.  As always, parents may choose to keep kids home for any reason.  If playing in inclement weather please dress your children appropriately.
