Hi everyone,
We're almost to the first day of soccer for Minis (U3 to U9), here's a list of things to know.
Map of our field layout for this year (also linked from our website's menu at the top): https://northshoresharks.ca/content/north-shore-fields-2024
Parents of U3 children are allowed and encouraged to join their children on the field. Our U3 coaches would benefit from the assistance of parents to help guide the players as the U3 group is so young. Please be supportive.
We have three volunteers to coach U5, but we could use at least one more to volunteer to help run the groups. We have binders with prepared activities for the kids that are very easy to follow, and many are variants on games the kids already know (eg: red light/green light, freeze tag). Please let us know if you're able to help.
It would be helpful to have at least one more volunteer to assist our U7 coaches. We have three adults and one youth coach so far, but this group is the most rambunctious. The head coach for U7 has plenty of experience, so parents don't need soccer knowledge to help out - you can assist by helping to ensure the players are listening, setting up for drills, etc. Please let us know if you're able to help.
The U7 fields are on the neighbouring field accessible from the gate in the overflow parking or from the path between the baseball diamonds. Please see the field map linked above, or ask if you need directions.
The U9s are separated by gender this year in order to participate in the Charlottetown U9 league run by Sherwood. We have two coaches for U9 Girls, but we need a coach for the U9 boys team - please step forward if you're able to help.
The game schedule with Sherwood and other Charlottetown area clubs are still being worked out but the plan is for them to be on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm. Last year the following clubs have signed up, which should give us a variety of teams to play against:
